| What is the best way to set up your detailing facility stalls for complete new & used detail services? 1) We have set up almost every type of detailing workable space. From one detailing stall, to 20 detailing stalls. 2) First off, your facility set up must take into great consideration the flow of the detailing space, garage door locations, drain location, size, and # of detailing stalls. 3) Our system utilizes what we refer to as wet stalls, dry stalls, and production system's with time frames. 4) The wet stall is where all the motor compartment cleaning, exterior cleaning, and washing of the vehicles takes place. We contain all the wet stall cleaning to the wet stall. The wet stall confines all the dirt and grime that we remove from the vehicles. Obviously, this is where the floor drains are located. Having a specified area where all your cleaning is located will accomplish two agenda's. First off, this helps you separate the detailing procedures, which is extremely important, as well, as your set up work flow. Secondly, this keeps your dry stalls clean and dry where you will be spending the majority of your time detailing. Keeping your hoses, electrical cords, dry, clean, and not dragging dirt back into the vehicle. Wet floors are slippery, buffing and polishing of vehicles with electrical cords, definitely needs to be done in clean dry stalls. Special note: In the case, you have only one detailing stall, and must conduct your dry stall detailing there as well. Once you have totally completed your wet stall procedures, totally squeegee down this stall and dry down as well as possible. Do this before proceeding to your dry stall, detailing procedures. 5) The wet stall cleaning procedures runs 20-45 minutes, depending on your interior wet stall cleaning option: cleaning your interiors in the dry stall, ("This is predetermined by the number of dry stalls you have") or proceed to cleaning them in the wet stall. (Note: In the case you have only one wet stall and multiple detailers, you need to get in and get out of this wet stall quickly, so you are not tying it up). 6) All your cleaning supplies and cleaning equipment are as well contained in your wet stall. 7) Dry Stall: This is where you well perform all the dry stall, detailing procedures, buffing, detailing, etc., time 2-3 hours. Typically, more remote stalls against the back of the detailing facility, where as you can leave the vehicle there for some time. Polishing, buffing, total dry stall procedures are all performed in the dry stall. All the necessary detailing supplies, products, and equipment pertaining to dry stall procedures are all located in this area. Note: This system not only separates the detailing duties, it also lends it self, to a assembly line mentality, which is exactly its purpose, and intention. Think of it, for example as a vehicle washing tunnel. Where as, the cleaning products are applied first, the scrubbing is next, the washing is done, the vehicle then proceeds to the drying and detail area. Bam, Bam, Bam! Send the next vehicle through. Our, detailing systems have been designed for efficiency, speed, and most of all, consistent quality. Detail product decisions are critical for this process. 8) How many vehicles do you need detailed a day? Your detailing facility set up, # of detailing wet stalls, and dry stalls, actually predetermines this out put #. As well, additional detailing services your dealership offers, which takes less detailing time, but the key word here is detail time. Each stall can only accommodate a certain # of detail hours through out the day. Not unlike your service department stalls, same philosophy. This is where our detailing flag rate schedules will assist you greatly in planning the detailing to be done that day, and can be done with the alloted space, committed. 9) If you have a wet stall and the average # of minutes you need this stall to complete the detailing wet stall procedures is 60 minutes, you could push through 8 vehicles per day. Space and time. 10) Dry stalls, 2-3 hours to perform the dry stall detailing procedures. Each stall would produce 3-4 vehicles a day. Simply stated: 1-wet stall, 1-dry stall, produce 2-3-4 complete details per day 1 wet stall, 2 dry stalls, produces 4-6-8 details per day 11) We can assist, in the event you would like us at "Detail Depot Detailing Systems" to assist you in the set up of your detailing stalls efficiency, we are very willing to help you out. 12) Fax us your detail facility schematics, dimensions of the space you have to work with.
