Motor Compartment Cleaning & Dressing
What You'll Need:
Pressure Washer - Utility Brush - Towels - Power Plus - High Tech - Blast Off -
Protexall - Solv All - Instant Shine - Magic Wax
1) Engine Compartment: Rinse down the exterior front portion of the vehicle.
* Hood - Fenders - Front Windshield - Front Grill Area.
2) Engine Compartment Cleaning:
* Give the motor compartment a light pre rinse prior to applying Power Plus -this activates your cleaner.
* Pay special attention to the valve covers - master cylinder - shock towers -water pump -
steering pump - areas that build up excessive grease.
* Spray down the entire inner hood jamb with Power Plus as well.
Special Note: If the engine compartment is heavily soiled utilize - High Tech All Purpose Cleaner - or
our Blast Off - High Alkaline Cleaner - our procedure or detailing system never changes - only what we
may or may not use may vary.
Super Heavy grease Solv All may be utilized - for the most extreme cases.

Motor Compartment Rating 1-3 normal dirt and grease: Power Plus
Motor Compartment Rating 3-6 abnormal heavy dirt and grease: Blast Off / High Tech All Purpose Cleaner
Motor Compartment Rating 6-10 extreme heavy dirt and grease: Blast Off or High Tech as well Solv All
* Utilizing a designated utility soft bristle wash brush - agitate and brush the entire motor compartment -
special attention paid to the inner hood jamb.
* Rinse down the motor compartment with a pressure washer - engine area first - rear fire wall -
inner fender wheels - battery - front cowl area - inner hood jamb - quick on and off electrical circuits
and alternator - always rinse down and to the middle of the engine compartment - always keep your
exposed exterior and exposed fenders and windshield rinsed clean as well. During this process - keep
your pressure wand moving this will eliminate getting a direct spray back to you - never rinse the
battery towards your fenders - always rinse to the center of the motor compartment - get all the angles.
* In the case you have an extremely dirty - inner hood liner - lightly spray down with Power Plus -
Do Not brush this material it is extremely sensitive. Place your pressure washer on its lightest fan jet
and rinse with extreme caution - do not direct spray. This material is very sensitive. CAUTION
Wipe Down Motor Compartment And Dress:
* With a dry towel wipe down the motor compartment - careful there are a lot
of sharp edges here, and they will cut your hands easily.
* Dress the entire motor compartment with Protexall - don't worry about
some left over moisture or water - Protexall was designed to dress right over
it. Only water based dressings have these abilities.
* We recommend: you WD40 or utilize some Silicone Spray for your hinges -
battery terminals - hood cable lines - moving parts - at this time.
Remember all your angles - resist wiping off the excess Protexall - simply
close the hood and proceed - you will be doing a final check and touch up of the motor compartment
in the dry stall final stage of the detailing process - you may elect to touch up the
motor compartment with some Instant Shine.
On certain areas as well, some Magic Wax to shine the inner hood areas.
